As mentioned in the previous “nuclear” post, energy forms the foundation of technological sovereignty. The next pillar for it is the sovereign infrastructure. Let’s take a look at the global supercomputers landscape – hardware that is absolutely necessary to train the next generation of AI models.
Working 15+ years in Enterprise IT & Finance and having a degree in Physics, I could not miss these details:
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 🇨🇳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮. 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲, installed in Shenzhen Cloud Computing Center, delivers 𝟮.𝟮 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗦 of compute consuming 42kW of power. However, there are only 2 supercomputers in China in TOP-100. The country owns 6% of world supercomputer resources, behind the US, Japan and Germany.
🇺🇸 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿, taking 4 places out of TOP-10 and more than 150 entries in TOP-500. In total, the US owns 37% of world supercompute performance.
🇪🇺 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲, incl. UK, shares 30% of compute – comparable with the US, and 5x more than China. Most powerful units are deployed in Germany, France and Italy. Only Germany has a ExaFLOPS powerful unit – the new 𝗝𝗨𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿. So Europe should have no excuses why not to advance in the AI race.
🇨🇭 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱? It operates 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝘀 at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre in Lugano. Powered by 10,752 NVIDIA Superchips it reaches 𝟬.𝟱 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗦 performance. It is the TOP-10 supercomputer in the world.
In total Switzerland shares 0.6% of world compute with 3 entities in TOP-500. Only 6 other countries concentrate more power: US, Japan, China, Germany, Italy and South Korea.
At 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, we don’t run a supercomputer, we actively work on 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗔𝗜 infrastructure 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 —starting with our 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗻.𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 – award-winning agentic AI MVP of our 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗔𝗜 national project – details we disclose directly to our investors.
We deploy & operate our proactive Agentic AI workflows in Swiss-based data centers — under strict Swiss laws, and are ready for expansion for all 26 Swiss cantons.
💡 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 & 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀: Learn how we bring you new Swiss B2B & B2C clients and new Revenue stream.
