# BERG DIGITAL > Conquer the market with AI > Admin Email: taisiia.berg@protonmail.com ## Posts ### ESG CoRe - generative AI platform for Compliance Reporting, ESG & CSR Problem Statement Companies operating in various jurisdictions are facing increasing pressure to comply with stringent ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) regulations imposed by EU and US governance, and various global initiatives. These regulations are constantly evolving, presenting challenges and significant costs for businesses striving to keep up with the latest requirements. Meanwhile, both governments and markets demand comprehensive, accurate, and timely reporting on a broad spectrum of sustainability metrics. Despite the growing market for ESG and CSR reporting tools, there remains a significant gap in affordable and reliable AI-powered reporting solutions. This shortfall impedes many Chief Compliance and Sustainability Officers from effectively addressing the scope and meeting the regulatory deadlines. Often it results in hiring more ESG Controllers and Analysts, who require onboarding and managing, and get busy with manual and repetitive tasks. Cost of neglecting ESG Financial Risk76% of consumer say they would cease doing business with a company that neglected ESG principles (PwC Consumer Intelligence Series June 2, 2021). ESG scandals are often associated with reputation damages, leading to slumps in stock prices (Gao et al., 2022; Nirino et al., 2021; Walsh et al., 2009).   Compliance Risk. Under EU rules, companies would fail to verified green claims could be fined up to 4% of annual turnover Reputation Risk. Negative news turns customers off: sales of their products fell immediately and continued to decline six months after the incident (Chicago Booth Review, 2023) Operational Risk. A strong ESG approach can reduce operating costs by as much as 60%. Supply shortages and rolling blackouts, mean that even a small reduction in operating costs can have overarching impacts (Salas Obrien, Adopting ESG: what it is, its drivers and how to take action, 2023) ESG Value Drivers There is overwhelming evidence that better ESG performance corresponds with a reduction in downside risk, lower loan and credit and better operational and financial performance. Companies that place importance on ESG factors have seen profits rise 9.1% and revenues grow 9.7% (Capital Monitor, 2022) Strength in ESG can help reduce companies’ risk of adverse government action, which typically put one-third of corporate profits at risk (McKinsey Quarterly, 2019).  ESG performance can translate to about 10% lower cost of capital (MSCI, ESG and the cost of Capital, 2020). A strong ESG approach can reduce operating costs by as much as 60% (McKinsey Quarterly, 2019) Customers willing to pay 9.7% sustainability premium, even as cost-of-living and inflationary concerns weigh (PwC 2024 voice of the consumer survey)  ESG CoRE ESG CoRe is a Generative AI-powered reporting engine that provides comprehensive ESG and CSR reports based on predefined and user-uploaded templates, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Product management To eliminate possible problems with your product management and mitigate risks, it is important to understand which metrics indicate them, and which reflect complete story about your customers, your business and the market, understand a correlation between them and leverage it. Operating in a high competitive sector, FinTech companies gathering big data feeds should ask themselves: Are they poised to take advantage of market opportunities the moment they emerge?  How do they diagnose and fix incidents before they have time to impact my business? Do they monitor the information they need to stay ahead? Are they monitoring the right data? Furthermore, each metric tells you so much in isolation. To provide a proper FinTech analysis you have to map out the complex relationships between how your product or app is functioning, do your marketing efforts perform well and figure out how it all fits together. Let’s consider metrics to focus on. Probably you have heard about AARRR. All of them indicate a customer behavior, which is vital for comprehension your performance - but they miss out key areas: marketing and technical.  AARRR for FinTech startups. Berg Digital CH A holistic view of your FinTech business usually rely on next 7 metrics: Acquisition Metrics They point out how many new customers you onboard. For instance, KPIs such as app downloads & new user account creation rate. Cost per acquisition, keep it as low as possible: If your CPA is too high, change your customer acquisition approach or channels, review advertising strategies or switch to in-person events. Activation Metrics It reflects how good you incentivise people to use your product. KPIs typically include Monthly Active Users (MAUs) and app/site traffic. Retention MetricsHere, you measure a success at keeping people engaged with your product - especially important if your business is subscription-based. Other KPIs: active/inactive accounts and returning customers. To calculate your overall retention or churn rate, divide your active users that continue their subscriptions by the total number of active users in a time period.   20/100 = 0.02 *100% = 20% retention rate. 8 of your 100 users churn—that's a 8% user churn rate, or a 92% user retention rate.  A successful sale with an existing customer is 60-70% and get more is impossible. Around 70% of SaaS leaders said that acquisition was their biggest goal, while about only 20% believed customer retention was their most important goal. That's not to say SaaS leaders don't care about retention—they just aren't prioritising it or putting in the effort to optimise it. Referrals The best possible feedback your customers can give you, is when they recommend your product to others. If you have a strong performance in this area you definitely observe a business growth. Keep eye on KPIs such as social shares, sent & saved posts, push referrals. Revenues Consider KPIs such as daily/monthly revenue, number of transactions/deposits to understand an entire picture of performance. FinTech startup process metrics. Berg Digital CH Marketing Metrics Earlier I wrote about them, but shortly remind you important KPIs include conversion rates, web traffic sources, cost per lead and customer lifetime value.  Technical Metrics which are usually overlooked, are critical for SaaS or app-based company, especially in fintech where users entrust to you their savings.  Monitor page load times, rates of timeouts (for Swiss UBS bank ~ 2.5 min), number of simultaneous connections, and percentage of database memory used to make sure your delivery stays smooth and frictionless. All tools to track these metrics usually integrated with data collection points or CRM via API. Thus you may utilise a lot of dashboarding tools to visualise KPIs, even BI platforms for detailed data analysis and querying. But when it comes to identifying anomalies, these tools tend to be pretty weak. Due to these outlying results which might be caused by factors from different KPIs or areas of the business that aren’t indicated by the same metric, such as a technical glitch causing a sudden drop in sales.  According to Gartner, 46% of marketing teams say that their data scientists dedicate significant time to preparing data for analysis, while 48% say they take the lead on data visualisation.  Consolidate all insights together Today new generation of analytic tools, interchangeably referred to AI analytics relying on the source, identifies patterns, correlations and anomalies, and helping you identify blind spots to make decisions based on the complete facts.  If you prefer a platform based on machine learning, it will even keep improving and honing its approach as it goes. Then you even detect anomalies in real time without wasting man-hour time.  By doing that, you reach a holistic picture of the financial and technological sides of your company in one hand with granular details, allowing you to fix issues, identify spot patterns and opportunities faster than ever before. ### A/B testing. Best practices for FinTech Following my Growth marketing checklist for FinTech, which was written some posts ago, let’s consider today a A/B or Split testing. Imagine, you want to move a certain call-to-action (CTA) button to the top of your homepage instead of keeping it in the sidebar and improve its click-through rate. To A/B test this hypothesis, you need to create another, alternative web page that reflected that CTA placement change. The starting design — or the "control" — is Version A. Version B is the "challenger."  Then, you test these two versions by showing each of them to a predetermined percentage of site users. In Ideal case, the percentage of users seeing B version is the same. For FinTech, probably, you aware about what key areas to test to increase lead generation and subscriber growth is your optin form. This is where people sign up to become subscribers or leads. But in these optic forms, where exactly you should focus on? I recommend you the next areas: Headlines and subheadings Copy Form design Call to action (CTA) Images Colors If you’re testing forms or split testing your web page, there are some best practices that always apply: Test the right items Hubspot advises to optimise the most visited pages: Home page About page Contact page Blog page If you concentrate on lead generation, then consider the option forms on: Webinar signup page Ebook landing page Lead magnet page All that you may do in free Google Analytics, go to Behavior —> Site Content —> All Pages. After getting you know what these are, you’ll know where to place email subscription and lead magnet optin forms. Sample size You should perform your test on enough people, otherwise you won’t get reliable results. But if one campaign gets 150% more engagement compared with other, that’s great. If you have a total traffic 20 readers. Then you actually don’t have much reliable data because your test sample is too small. According to Nielsen Norman Group research (www.nngroup.com/), the minimal audience per day should be 5 000 user, duration 18 days, with 3 variations. For newsletter test audience starts from 1000 recipients. A/B Split testing process by BergDigital.CH A/B Split testing for mobile app by BergDigital.CH Reliable data There’s another important measure of data reliability or statistical significance. This is a way of determining that your results aren’t caused by random chance. To identify statistical significance for your A/B test, use Visual Website Optimizer’s statistical significance tool. The P-value tells you whether the test has statistical significance. If you get a Yes, congrats! If you get a No, you may need to go back to adjust your metrics. Check hypothesis Before any testing make a hypothesis, to avoid a wasting time. What you need to test?  Why it needs to be tested?  What changes do you expect? With this structure, you’ll know the scope of your test and when it succeeds or fails.  Use the next format, which is very close to Scrum User Stories: As a …, I want to …, so that I can | Acceptance criteria: Given, When, Then But a bit more complicated: Because we obtained A and feedback B, we believe that changing C for users D will make E happen. When we see F and receive G, it confirms our hypothesis. Well, you may use one of them doesn’t matter which one. For instance, email newsletter optin form: Because we observed a low conversion rate A and users complained that a form was too long B, we believe that reducing the number of form fields C for all users D will increase newsletter signups E. It confirms our hypothesis when we get an increase in newsletter signups for 2 weeks testing F and get customer feedback that reflects that people think the optin form is less complicated G. Correct test schedule  The one of the most crucial A/B testing best practices  is a scheduling. You’ll get reliable results only if you run your A/B tests for comparable periods. Keep in mind also seasonal peaks and plateaus, Black Friday, Christmas, New Year and etc.  Check your traffic performs in Google Analytics. Go to Audience —> Overview. In calendar —> Last 30 days. After that click on Compare To, the previous 30 days will automatically be selected. —> Apply Thus you get a better idea of traffic patterns and can select an ideal period to run your A/B test. Test duration If you’re running a test with several variants and want 500 conversions, you’ll need to test for a longer time than you would for a test with one variant and 100 expected conversions. I prefer 7 days with 2 or 3 variants and ~29 or 43 conversions per day. Or you may use for it a calculator vwo.com/tools/ab-test-duration-calculator No mid-test changes Don’t interrupt the test before the end of the ideal testing period, and do not enter new elements that weren’t part of your original hypothesis, otherwise all your results won’t be reliable. Better is to stay strong, sit and wait for the results to come in, and take action only after the end of testing. One element in one time One golden rule of A/B testing: test one element at a time, to evaluate how effective a change is. If you’re testing a marketing optin form, the changes in the headline, in the call to action, in the number of form fields. Thus you never know which ONE element makes a difference in your lead conversions. If you need to test more than one element, you need multivariate testing. Next time about it. Control variations Many variations at once is a classic split testing mistake. The more variations you have, the longer you need to run the tests to receive reliable results. A/B testing best practices advices: To reach the best balance of test duration and efficiency, choose between 2 and 4 variations at the same time.  Focus on data Check your hypothesis, entrust the data, not your intuition. If you follow my advice on how to create split tests, you obtain reliable data that’ll help you to improve conversions. ### Influencer marketing regulation. 16 different markets Let’s proceed with previous topic (all of them from the Growth hacking checklist for FinTech) and consider today a legal part of Influencer marketing. Well, for FinTech Influencer marketing work all rules below. Thus In the UK and the US appeared the rules. But common issue arises when there isn’t a monetary exchange or formal agreement between advertisers and influencers, but free products or ‘gifting’ are offered in exchange for content. In the UK for instance if a brand has any level of input or editorial control over what an influencer posts ― this counts an advertisement and must comply with the local influencer code.  Meanwhile in Russia, authorities pay less attention to private social media accounts, content resulting from a gift, particularly when there are no formal obligations, is less likely to be scrutinised by local authorities.  What if you don't comply? Influencer marketing, especially FinTech Influencer marketing, both worldwide are under the same standards as traditional advertising, that means a lot of prohibitions and regulations. Important, extra scrutiny is imposed on influencer marketing for misleading and deceptive content.  Around the world, regulators increase fines for those who don’t make it clear that an ad has a commercial purpose or those who give misleading statements about a brand. For instance a US-based supplement and nutrition brand “Teami’ has got a giant $15M fine for their influencer campaigns which didn’t properly disclose their paid partnerships additionally deceptively claiming their products could cause rapid and substantial weight loss.  Who is liable? There are 3 parties who contribute to an influencer marketing post: the influencer, the company and the agencies that broker the agreement. Liable is all of them. Last year the Swedish Consumer Ombudsman filed a lawsuit against an influencer, who had published advertising posts for a partner company.  Simultaneously, a lawsuit was filed against an agency that brokered the agreement, but not against the company whose products were being prompted.  The complaints included improper disclosure of advertisement content. The advertising labelling within the content did correspond local requirements so in the end the judgement was appealed. Next example, the FTC has filed a number of lawsuits for inadequate labelling of posts. In these cases the companies bear the majority of the heat but the agencies didn’t face scrutiny.  What counts as an ad? Before pushing content live, local research should be done due to different countries have different codes of practice. The spreadsheet in the next photo helps to highlight the basic requirements in different countries. Influencer marketing regulation. 16 different markets by BergDigital.ch Requirements for different social platforms i.e Youtube, Instagram were not mentioned, but for example Instagram has a ‘paid partnership’ feature.  One point was clear throughout: regulators are seriously cracking down on influencer marketing. Whilst disclosure is currently the focus of most court cases and almost seems like ‘old news’ now, there are undoubtedly more developments to come. The same story is for using children as influencers. How to work with influencers? The key recommendations when working with influencers are: content should adhere to local and traditional advertising laws. At second, an average person ― one not familiar with influencer marketing or sponsored content ― needs to understand that there’s a commercial connection between the influencer and the company and if in fact, it is a paid-for partnership.  The growing success of influencer advertising in social media has drawn the attention of both the public and watchdogs. Both demographic groups of late adopters to social media now fully comprehend its appeal as well as risks. ### Influencer marketing in FinTech Pro vs Contra Influencer marketing is also being used for fintechs. It builds brand awareness and hype, drive sales and possibly the best advertising channel amid a lockdown. Digital banks like Starling and consumer fintechs such as Plum, digital mortgage-broker Habito, Gen-Z banking app Zelf, Germany’s Vivid money, SME bank Penta, and Klarna actively experiment with influencer marketing  We observe a so-called shift in fintechs’ tactics: dominating platforms where big banks don’t yet play. For instance Revolut paid hundreds of social media bloggers to promote their services using a £32-per-user referral system. They were interested in employing influencers with large immigrant and Latino followings, to reach the right people. Digital banks like N26 and Klarna have launched few international campaigns, with bloggers (or so-called ambassadors) posting in different languages. Meanwhile, TikTok has become an attractive spot for US teenager, bank Step thanks to a partnership with TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, who announced her support for Step to her 91M followers. Zelf and Penta (financial apps) have decided to work with YouTube bloggers, according to their brand strategist, it is the most effective media channel for fintechs. On YouTube the content creators offer high quality, and  YouTube content also has a longer lifespan than Instagram or TikTok and a conversion is very high. 17% of companies of consumer fintechs spend over 50% of their marketing budget on influencers, moving away from TV campaigns and tube ads (PWC, Forbs) Сontrariwise Accenture asserts the influencer marketing strategy has less effect for fintechs focusing on profitability rather than growth. For fintech the challenge is to make money from the customers they already have.  This conveys concerns around “fin-influencing”, namely, that it’s not a good way to use of VC funds. Influencer marketing in FinTech. Pro vs Contra by BergDigital.ch Making a general offer, you just flood bank bullshit around. This works only if the influencer is from your target group and you’re an affinity bank. Be very picky selecting of influencers for your campaign according to your fintech marketing strategy, for example consumers don’t inherently trust beauty bloggers’ advice on issues like money. The financial topic is highly personal, so the likelihood of a lifestyle influencer being a target customer, giving a true and honest opinion, is extremely low. Analyse the engagement stats for a fashion influencer: the blogger usually received engagement of around 0.01% on her banking ad, while her average was ~5% (comparing how many ‘likes’ her posts received as a % of her total following). Do not repeat a mistake: many of fintech campaigns often focus on reach rather than relevance. Thus digital banking app Pockit tried an influencer marketing, but received a poor return of investment. In Tandem was decided against an influencer marketing campaign, arguing it is too expensive and there is a lack of viable analytics data. The value of influencers is hard to track. In Klarna, influencers have come under scrutiny for failing to flag the risks of using credit. This advertising campaign in the UK attracted watchdog to refine the guidelines for influencer posts about Klarna. They have to include warnings about getting into debt. Legal side of influencer marketing will appear in the next business post. ### FinTech. How to increase your Customer base? For all fintech startups, companies and their services to fight with the risk of financial crimes such as: money laundering and terrorist financing is significant part of success to win client's trust. Customers feel more comfortable with businesses that have security measures (Harward Business Review), so provide your potential clients security concerns to your customers.  Implement apparent security measures for your fintech startup such as customer identity screening in real-time, secure payment service, biometric authentication at logins, etc. Doing that, you show to your clients that you care for their security and take necessary measures to ensure it. Implement a face verification enabled login, it is convenient, and delivers better security to the customers. Thus you fight with fraud without long customer due diligence practices. To beat the competition, practice rigid security measures. Due to that fact, big data is the primary asset of fintech solutions, invest time, effort and money in its security.  For example make your data protection and customer privacy policies visible enough on your website or app, to gain the attention of customers. Additionally, it points the confidence of a company in its security practices. For another industries the following tips for increasing of customer base also will be useful. 1. Offer a useful free newsletter Now offer a free newsletter is not enough, it should be useful and helpful, to incentivise people use it. Avoid empty words, use advices, analytics and promo actions or discounts.  Don’t scary to mention your partners’ promo, it gives you a synergy. From one side customers look for something new (better open rate) from another you it’s a content for you, and you may get a profit (commission %, or something in return) from this partnership. 2. Ask your customers for opinions If you have a lot of customers (or even visitors), before a user leaves your website, request to complete a short business-related survey.  Usually users eager to express themselves through their opinion about their online and offline experiences. Further use a survey to conduct industry research about customer experience or measure customer satisfaction. Brightlocal research shows 91% of consumers trust online reviews as much as they trust personal recommendations.  3. Customer support and service: provide and maintain excellent one Remember, a customer who contacts customer support about their first order is super important, if you helped in the best way, you get a new customer, who will return to order again. If not, you wasted your time and money to acquisite that customer. Microsoft research shows 60% of consumers have stopped conducting business with a brand due to a poor customer service experience.  Treat each customer with respect, provide appropriate action. A happy customer can bring at least three friends talking about a positive experience and great customer service. Track previous customer communication through tools such as CRM software. Research shows 93% of customers are likely to make repeat purchases with companies who have great customer service (HubSpot).  4. Customer Loyalty Program 69% of consumers say that loyalty programs influence their decision when considering a new brand (Oracle).  Levels encourage customers to continue buying from your business and create a sense of community as they progress through each level of loyalty. Each level should have its own special rewards and the rewards should increase in value as customers move toward the highest level. FinTech. How to increase your Customer base by BergDigital.ch 5. Offer Freemium features Offer freemium features to grab the attention of potential customers. The feature or item given away can be a PDF download or something like a free prototype or trial software. Ask your users to leave an email address and create an account, and users don't have to pay to use these tools. Take care about customer onboarding. 55% of consumers have returned a product because they didn't understand how to use it (Wyzowl).  Identify their specific needs and goals. Prominently display your short screencast or video “how to use feature/product”.  Don’t forget to show customer support options on your packaging so customers know exactly how to reach you if they have a question. Make your customer service accessible to your customers it is the key to provide reliable, real-time support. 6. Keep your website content fresh To pull in new visitors and potential customers, keep your content fresh and informative by publishing a blog that reports the latest business news, analytics and hot topics within your industry. Additionally a fresh content helps your website be found in search engines. 7. Social media promotion For example, Facebook users have an average of 229 friends.  When you create new content, launch a new product or run a new campaign, use across posting through the social media channels you are active in. That is the easiest way to grow your customer base spreading value and motivating your customers promote your brand for you.  8. Crowdfunding for fintech startup and others There is crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter or GoFundMe. They help you to build interest, community spirit, and a customer base and raise funds.  ### FinTech email marketing. Best practices Following to my FinTech Growth hacking checklist in previous posts and keeping in mind your requests, the next topic is: Email newsletter marketing. The best practises for 2021. Which is super important for fintech startup digital marketing activities. COVID-19 changed all: your effective email marketing strategy in 2019/2020 does not work anymore. Direct sales offers inboxes are marked as spam, and forever left unopened. In March 2019, spam messages accounted for 56% of global email traffic (Statista). The challenge now is to develop email campaigns that get affective again.1. Jewellery accuracy in targeting for email marketing Create email marketing campaigns that truly connect with each readers’ interest. Divide your email list into precisely targeted groups - the Annual Email Optimizer Report (Lyris) found numerous benefits of email list segmentation including increased open rates, greater email relevance, and lower opt-out or unsubscribe rates.  Segment your recipients based on age, gender, location, etc. This helps you to be sure that you're sending the right communication to the right people. For example UBER uses geographically segmented email, but in Switzerland you need additionally consider languages and in cross-country campaign time zones. 2. Customise your message Usually tweets and Instagram ads speak directly to a specific reader, and your Email marketing campaigns should be appropriately sharpened. Imagine your audience = email recipients, use data from Google Analytics such as interests, affinity category.  GA —> (left menu) Audience —> Interests —> Overview Imagine, what are they looking for when browsing for products and services? How does your audience define good customer service? What incentives them to visit a website and subscribe? Customise every detail in your emails, follow-ups, and reminders. For example, Millennial audience would like to obtain informative concise messages with appealing images ( infographics, which they can also easily share).3. Win a competition for an audience’s attention Almost all current consumers are multi-taskers - they scroll news feeds while watching video, and check for work-related emails in between. The competition for attention is greater than ever. Use your fantasy, formulate creative ways to grab attention, and hold it until you've delivered your message. Use witty headlines, visually-appealing images, and straightforward emails - avoid clickbait. Simulate a sense of urgency, tapping on today's culture of "FOMO" (fear of missing out): “You’re missing out on amazing rewards”, or “[URGENT] You’ve got 1 DAY to read this…”.  Be creative, use humour: “We Like Being Used”, while OpenTable had “Licking your phone never tasted so good” as the header of one of its email campaigns. FinTech email marketing. The best practises 2021 by BergDigital.ch 4. Clear call-to-action for email newsletter Every email should have a clear objective, which you can achieve with a right call-to-action. Visit your website or subscribe to your newsletter? Or to like your Facebook Page or make a purchase in your online store?  Guide them to these purposes with an effective CTA. For example, offer your visitors value at low or no cost, in exchange for a click. But avoid asking for too much too soon. For instance (according to Marketing experiments), by changing “Find your solution” to “Learn More”, the clickthrough rate on one email rose by 77%. Using “Subscribe & Save” instead of  “View Subscription Options” led to 181% clickthrough rate increase for another campaign. 5. Limit your email blasts Did you know that an average office worker gets  121 emails per day?(DMR Business Statistics, 2020) I guess you don't want your message to be sent to the spam due to too aggressive campaign for your subscribers. People have signed up for your updates and newsletters because they''re interested in your brand, products or services, they want to stay connected. Remember you can’t just bombard them with emails. Consider limiting your messages once a week. 6. Craft catchy subject lines or headlines A subject line in email is super important - readers easily ignore or delete your email with a boring or suspicious headline. MailChimp published an email marketing study, and found that short, topic-relative subject lines best attract readers.  Include words that reflect urgency, ask a question or challenge.  To craft direct and catchy headlines customised to your readers don’t forget to use your pre-segmented email list. 7. Make sure your emails are mobile-friendly The Mobile Economy study predicts 1.4 billion people will start using the mobile internet for the first time, bringing the total number of mobile internet subscribers globally to 5 billion by 2025 (over 60% of the population). Keep in mind users browse the web, scroll through social media and check their emails via their handheld devices. Thus you need to be sure that your email promo are mobile-optimised. To design a mobile-friendly digital asset, keep in mind the length of texts, banners, video. Check whether your images display on smartphones, and downloading time: whether it is too slow. 8. Write professional emails Imagine, you perceive a business email with typos and grammar errors? Such things definitely badly reflect on the sender. Always check everything in your email marketing campaign. Don’t hurry, plan out and draft an outline, write a copy and proofread it several times, and be consistent with your brand. 9. Build an inclusive community with email marketing strategy Keep in mind, people digitally meet others, join groups, and essentially build a world that is as real as their offline sphere. Use it in your email marketing campaign by engaging your readers into an inclusive community. Share personal updates about your life that don't necessarily relate to your usual promotions - perhaps a photo of your work routine or a photo of your desktop with cat? Don’t abuse such elements, but a few such visuals along these lines help you to make your audience feel at home. ### How to pass the Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) assessment from Scrum.org The Scrum.org Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) assessment is a 60 minute time boxed assessment where you answer 80 questions (in English) of multiple choice type, very similar in style to the Scrum Open assessment. It is super important, some of them you will meet at the exam. Just make the all for Scrum Master, Product Owner until you get 100% with every try (from 3 to 5 times). At first, you need to register and pay $200.  Then you receive one attempt and decide when and where to take it. The plus is no expiration date. There is no a necessity to go to assessment centre and you just take it from your home. All you need is a good internet connection. I was too bumptious, thinking that it is easy to pass it. The first try costed me $200 and was a pretty expensive and disappointing attempt, I answered all questions but got only 80% and did not pass. But honestly I was not really good prepared, I’ve read a lot but not deeply. Actually I don’t think that I’m too rich to participate in a full preparation course and decided to learn much more independently. But of course you can attend a Scrum.org Professional Scrum Product Owner course.  To avoid my first mistake, I would like to give you some advices, how to prepare to pass Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) by yourself. No excuses, read the Scrum Guide pay attention to every detail. You have clear to differ what and who must/have/may do. Clear understand the difference between accountable and responsible in the wording of questions. There is a lot such questions with tricky wording. Read the Scrum glossary for main definitions of key terms  Actually you can make cards with definitions and learn them in Quizlet for example.  Don’t forget to read posts from others on the Scrum.org forums, to find out possible questions and available simulators. Keep in mind, the wording of questions is changing but the gist is the same. I found a very helpful a book The Professional Product Owner by Don McGreal and Ralph Jocham. Some questions were from it, of course with another wording. Take all possible, available and free assessments in internet for Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I). Believe me, the free simulators are not so many there. Contact me if you still have questions. When you are ready to pass, use link in the email you will have received from Scrum.org Check your internet connection, ask your family do not distract you and leave you alone for next 60 mins. To be concentrated is a key for understanding questions with tricky wording. Open the Scrum guide and the Scrum glossary, use it to look up what you need. But honestly you will NOT have time for that, thus it is better to keep deep understanding in your mind.  Prepare the pen and paper to make notes with numbers of questions where you are not sure. Try to spend a one minute for two questions, it sounds impossible but for that you have to be prepared before. 60 mins for 80 questions.  Yes, somewhere it will be an educated guess, but somewhere you will be 100% sure. If you leave yourself 10 min in reserve, you may come back and double check a few tricky answers.  Also you may google some questions, but believe me, you just waste time because to find something worth you will need much more time (3-5 mins per 1 questions - too much!) then the educated guess.  If you fail this attempt, after a really good preparation you may try again. The nuance is if you attend a Scrum.org Professional Scrum Product Owner course, and fail the PSPO I assessment within 14 days of completing the course, then Scrum.org provides you with a 2nd free attempt. I hope this information will help you to pass. Let me know how you get on via the comments below and good luck! Taisiia Berg is certified Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) by Scrum.org Find my all certificates here. ### Success metrics for Product Owners in FinTech Following my Growth marketing checklist for FinTech in previous posts, for me personally the most interesting part is a product management, because it is 80% of success on the market. A lot of things depends on Product Owner but how to know that your Product Owner performs well? Does she/he ask right questions with right customers? If product owner writes a lot does not mean he/she is writing well. Development might be re-writing everything behind the scenes because the requirements are so poor that they cannot be tasked as written. Or how to get a good Product Owner? Consider some KPIs for Product Owners. 1. Measure communication. At first, your product managers have to get out talk with people: customers, potential customers, partners, suppliers and regulators to have a solid view of your market. To be involved in the sales, marketing, development and delivery of the products. The writing requirements and support documentation should not take an entire day.  Objective: know your market & company inside-out, keep your knowledge up to date. Measure: External communication: number of conversations with customers, potential customers, and industry experts 1/week.Internal communication: meet with each department and review priorities 1/month. 2. Value of new ideas If your product owners research market problems, generate ideas on how to solve them well, they will be able to answer the following questions for an hour, backed with market evidence: How does your target market look like? What market issues exist in your target market?Which issues tremendously affect your target market? What is the solution to the problem? Is your solution enough valuable to the target market? What is cost of your solution to implement?Do other companies try to solve the same problems? Why is your solution better for the target market than anyone else’s? Each month find out at least one new idea and present it with the evidence with one senior representative from sales, marketing, legal, finance, development, and product management.  Pitch ideas for 5 minutes, you have to be able to answer all questions for 10 minutes. Otherwise, scrutinise reasons, refine them and try again next month. For great ideas create a detailed business case that are worth pursuing, collect rejected ideas for review later. Objective: pinpoint the ideas that form the ground for successful future products. Measure: Knowledge: Are your ideas clearly and easily reflecting their benefits?Perceived value: how many of your ideas are approved for further digging? 3. Roadmap planning & management For the next 12 months your Product Owners should be able to create an order of development priorities based on their market knowledge and research. By doing that, you get a long-term destination defined along with the time you expect to arrive there.  Otherwise, it is possible to get there with different routes (flexibility in decision-making). In real life priorities change, thus you need to review your roadmap every month and adjust if necessary.  To change anything in the mid of route, it is needed to make sure there’s a significant set of reasons to do that and it should be written. The roadmap has to be updated, but it is not necessary build all around it. Important for all sales / marketing / development / senior management / customers / partners know what’s coming up or why things have changed and understand the reasons. Objective: deliver the right products to market at the right time, in the right order and keep everyone aware what’s in it. Measure: Communication: update roadmap at least 1/month or whenever when major changes occur in the roadmap.Time: compare initial project start and finish dates to what actually happened, including time required for research and writing requirements all the way to release.Budget: compare estimated project costs with actual costs.Scope: compare initial project scope with what was actually delivered. 4. Requirements. Acceptance Criteria. Customer feedback Keep User Stories short. Bad requirements are usually too long, there is a lack of important contextual details, and sometime it is from hard-to-impossible to test.  Good requirements usually are concise and Development team does not need to interpret them. Objective: produce brief, highly useful to the Development and QA, requirements and reflect customer needs. Measure:  Number of User Stories/Requirements that had to be split or re-written by the Development team.Number of Acceptance Criteria that had to be re-write by QA.Pro vs cons (Customer feedback) on the new feature or function after launch. 5. 🛒📲 New release Don’t allow someone to screw up the launch.  Make sure, all departments involved in a launch have the information they need, in the form they need, before launch.  Good communication before launch and management of your roadmap are halfway of the good launch.  For consistency, create a checklist of things each department in your company, customers and partners need to know, and when it is needed. Review the checklist at least 1/week. Think about to kill off older versions of products.  1.  If you want to move up customers to the newest version of the product, thus you need to incentivise them to upgrade. 2. Convey End-of-life of your product to your company’s departments, customers, and partners in the right form, at the right time for them to use it effectively. The excitement and anticipation around the new version and its benefits are great motivators for customers to upgrade.  Objective: rapid uptake of products at launch time by new and existing customers Measure:  Readiness: how prepared were the customers, partners and employees for the release.Pipeline: quantity of business anticipations for the new product (prior to launch).Effectiveness: real financial performance of the product after release.Upgrades: % of existing customers moved to new product version (and timeframe). ### Essential SEO tips for FinTech It is not a secret that SEO has a strong position in digital marketing strategy especially if your product or service is being distributed in FinTech field. Challenge: High cost of lead generation through pay-per-click ads. Weak brand with low-quality backlink profile. Saturated market with many incumbents. Project's duration: 6 months Best suited for: FinTech startups. Lenders. Insurance brokers. Financial advisors. Personal finance. Foreign /crypto exchange. What is needed to realise: Technical SEO. Site structure. Content strategy. Link building outreach. On-Page optimisation. Creation of promotable content assets. Content amplification. That you know: Align business goals with customer needs, to engage your audience and demonstrate how your company  solves their needs, challenges and pain points. Create high-quality content to win trust from prospects and earn points from Google and other search engines, which rank informative, authoritative and accurate online content highly. Use keywords, avoid jargon and etc., let’s skip it. ✅That probably is new for you: Google puts a special emphasis on the quality of pages in category Your Money or Your Life (YMYL), when considering SEO for Financial Services marketing. The most important Key factors that Google considers when evaluating pages are: Page purpose. Main content quality. Amount of content. Quality of content: Google algorithms pay particular attention to content which reflects expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness. Keep in mind, your content should answer to: Who is the content author and how trustworthy is she/he? What are the author’s qualifications and what expertise do they have? How often is the information on the pages updated and maintained? All texts, images, video that are potentially able to influence an individual’s quality of life, impacting their happiness, health and wealth. Find below the examples of the types of pages: Financial information: topics like investments, insurance, taxes, pensions, property buying and savings, etc. Any financial transaction: possibility to make purchases, pay bills and online money transfer. Any legal information or advice: in topics like marriage, divorce, child custody, worker rights, and creating a will, etc. Medical information pages: giving people information or advice on health, nutrition, medication/drugs, medical conditions and symptoms, and mental health, etc.  Other pages lifestyle-related sites covering topics like safety, security, wellbeing and mindfulness. All such pages are scrutinised more than any other pages, so you need to ensure that your content is of the highest quality, relevance and accuracy. Be specific, in order that you'll give people clear and authoritative answers to questions posed in your content or provide information which offers real value to your target audience. Using video & audio content facilitate in this too. Videos break down complex ideas into bite-sized chunks and help people retain messages more effectively than from text. That helps to establish your brand as a trusted source of information and an industry thought leader.   Other technical SEO considerations include: Meta tags/description. Relevant and accurate links. Anchor text. Image tags. HTML page content structuring (H1s, H2s, etc). Link building is a critical part of improving the website’s trust and brand authority. Should be more than 1200. Post-COVID-19 measures Now we live in a new post COVID19 world and urgently have to restore a pace of already lost growth. Where the partnerships are able to realise their hidden potential. After work in b2b Swiss credit company and with banks, I remarked how to engage with partners — whether fintechs or traditional companies. Current crisis is the best time to take advantage of the opportunities that exist. That marketing activities will facilitate the delivery of services that enable and engender loyalty of your customers.  Keep in mind all measures demonstrate that your brand/company are listening to, understand, and communicate with consumers in a unique way. 1. Marketing, Sales & Services Integration. Often all customer interactions and communications (via telephone, direct mail, email, and digital) are realised in particular way across partnerships.  Integration of these services serves a common goal: customer needs in order to generate maximum revenue and profit. Integrate all in CRM to track client’s action: call, mail, newsletter, call from ads in search, filling out website's form, partners' newsletters, messages from social media. In a few cases it's a mono vendor solutions but usually a hybrid from different integrated services that usually we do for our customers. 2. Create Collaboration Strategy. Many partnerships in fintech including banking do not establish a thoughtful strategy, but such companies like international IT/software vendors benefit greatly from the leverage partnerships.  You need to develop a 6 months actions plan for offline and online activities with your partners. Discuss and agree goals, deadlines, a budget, KPI like leads and % possibility of real deals. 3. Establish Customer Knowledge Continuously update knowledge of customers’ needs, motivations, and behaviors over the lifetime of the relationship. Conduct surveys, put this info in CRM. Consolidate customer databases to create unique customer ID, use matching algorithms to create the full picture of the customer across all data points.  https://youtu.be/GMvocgsJhL0 4. Data Privacy. Customers own their personal data, customer data is essentially bound to the company that collects it and can only be used for the stated purposes. Thus, it is important to declare data sharing in “general terms and conditions” to obtain permission to use data. You need to implement well-designed policies and procedures to ensure data is managed in a privacy-compliant and ethical manner. 5. Exchange of Customer Information Exchanging information is a crucial nuance to a successful marketing strategy and depends on managing privacy constraints.  After coming of Neo & crypto banks to the market, traditional banks seek to customer-centric model by creating loyalty, somehow addressing pain points, trying to improve experiences, and engage the customer as an individual.  Share data within proven partnership, it brings smarter suggestions that work for customers. The approach to managing marketing and CRM requires a tighter collaboration between partners. By fact you need to change partnership agreements and conditions, it brings value for both partners.  This creates additionally value in rewards and loyalty programs and place partnerships in win-win position. ### Product Owner vs Project Manager in FinTech Well being honest sometimes I get such assignment which called as a project manager but in the reality it is pure a product owner role. Another story is when a position assumes both roles as PM and PO in one person, it is hard but possible. The common things for both Product Owner and Project Managers are these people work with the team to reach a common goal: deliver the project or product on time and with high quality, staying in a budget. The requirement of a Project Manager or a Product Owner depends on the structure of the project and the market requirements, resources to build it. Let’s consider deeper what makes positions unique and how they differ from each other. Product Owner vs. Project Manager. BergDigital.ch Who is a Scrum Product Owner? According to the Scrum Guide: “The Product Owner is responsible for maximising the value of the product and the work of the Development Team. How this is done may vary widely across organisations, Scrum Teams, and individuals”.   Let me remind you the main responsibility of a Product Owner is to manage the Product Backlog, what includes: Clearly expressing Product Backlog items; Ordering the items in the Product Backlog to best achieve goals and missions;   Optimising the value of the work the Development Team performs; Ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the Scrum Team will work on next;  Ensuring the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed. Thus the Scrum Product Owner is accountable for all work mentioned above. There are various customers and users, and it is very important that the product owner has a proper understanding of their needs as well as the business domain. The Product Owner is a key role who stays in touch with all the stakeholders (users, customers, marketing, sales, senior management, or customer support), represents their desires and keeps them connected with the development team.  Let’s consider the main duties in details: Deliver a clear vision of the project; Negotiate the priorities, budgeting, scope, and schedule. Share the risks, issues and dependencies with the stakeholders. Defining the features and specifying the requirements of the product; Prioritise the features of the product; Adjust the features and re-prioritise them if it’s needed after every sprint; Lead the product backlog and order work in the product backlog; Ensure that the product backlog list is clear, transparent and visible for all participants; Define and announce releases; Keep the all well informed of the upcoming status as well as get their feedback. Who is an Agile Project Manager? Agile Project Manager is responsible for leading a project from the beginning till the end, which supposes the planning of an entire project, its execution, delivering the project on time, and being in a budget also managing the people and resources.  She or he facilitates to team work to ensure that the desired business value is being delivered and the work is carried out in the correct order. Important to mention that a project manager should be able to ask questions, resolve conflicts, understand unstated assumptions, manage people, time, quality and budget, in short, keep in mind iron triangle. Let’s consider what the major responsibilities does a Project Manager role imply. All these responsibilities are universal and applicable to all project managers over the life cycle of a project. For instance, Planning and Defining Scope. During COVID19 time and post-COVID19 time, a proper planning with a risk management have the significant meaning for facing project deadlines as many projects fail due to ineligible planning.  Because the project manager defines the scope of the project, determines the available resources (peoples, accesses, software, hardware etc.), estimates the time and financial commitments. Time Management is essential: A project can be defined as successful or failed depending on the factor whether it has been delivered on time.  Meanwhile a project manager should set realistic deadlines and ensure that the team adheres to it. In general the main agile PM’s activities to follow are:  Define an activity; Sequence the activity; Estimate a duration for the activity; Develop a schedule accordingly; Maintain the schedule. Ensure customer satisfaction: Justify stakeholders’ expectations with deliverables is vital and ensure that stakeholders are satisfied with the results.  Monitor Progress: a true agile project manager monitors and analyses the team performance and expenses and undertake effective measures to do so. However, maintain a constant communication with the stakeholders and obtain a regular feedback and report them back with the progress is a main work for PM.  Cost Estimation and Budget Development. Example from real life: the project was partly failed because it was delivered in time to the stakeholders but if it costs much more than the budget which was declared.  True PM should keep in mind, the given estimation at the beginning of the project and monitor the expenses according to the planned budget.  Sometimes the Project Manager should adjusts the figures accordingly and keep the budget stable, otherwise immediately report about hypothetically possible additional charges. Project Risk Management. “Risk management focuses on the negative—threats and failures rather than opportunities and successes”,(Harvard Business Review). In common words, risks are potential problems which have an equal likelihood of happening and not.  All possible Issues and problems should be collected in a Risk Register document and develop risk mitigation strategies. When one of them or few arise in project the PM should immediately follow the pre-defined risk mitigation strategy for particular issue. Final reports and other important documents.  These duties are two very important tasks for the project manager, they document all the projects requirements that have been fulfilled, during the entire project, that includes what has been done, who were involved, deliverables and goal which were reached, and how it would have been improved in the future. Let’s consider the similarities between a Product Owner and Project Manager Sometimes a Project Manager can be considered as a Product Owner and Product Owners sometimes acts as Project Managers. Both roles have many similarities between each other.  Project Managers and Product Owners are responsible to look after a team that works together to complete a project, on these roles are important to have people skills and communication skills to solve conflicts and eliminate obstacles.  The foundation of successful project is to build trust, show transparency and facilitate proper communication between team members, stakeholders or sponsors, keeping in mind the success of the project. Thus both roles are accountable for the successful final outcome of a project.  The difference between the roles of a Project Manager and a Product Owner is when it comes to their day-to-day management.  Below I describe how a Product Owner’s role stands out from a Project Manager.  Product Owner vs. Project Manager  Product OwnerProject ManagerProduct visionAdvocate the needs of a customer and acts as their voice for the product vision.Represents to the sponsors and stakeholders predefined (not by her/him but someone else) product vision and curates the project.FeedbackEnsures that the decisions made in the company are shaped according to the feedback received.According to customer feedback, he adjusts the product vision and strategy. StrategyDefines the strategic roadmap, the goal and monitor that value is being delivered to the customer. Is responsible for business outcomes (+budget), quality, time and scope.CommunicationStays constantly in touch with the team, customers, stakeholders and the organisation. Works with the stakeholders and/or helps the product owner and the development team do when needed.RiskConcentrates on the long-term ongoing support for product capabilities and value stream.Being focused on the nearest sprint and release (CI/CD).Table 1. Time limit: 1h Things to fix on Typewise.app website Before starting any growth marketing activities it is needed to fix some details. The website typewise.app does not look trustable for users, thus at first is important to solve it by adding more transparency. The founders do not see a main advantage of the product - security of users data, from that point is vitally important to build a marketing strategy. PR & Social media channels did not connect with the website. There is no obvious form for gathering emails on the website. Find below growth marketing activities which 100% work. Keep in mind every of them required a hard manual work if you do not want spend money. 1. Think out your customer journey and map out it. Build a digital analytical architecture to track every user and action on your website. Form a customer’s journey. Understand where you get and lose traffic, fix it. Connect all media channels with the website. Promotion of the app via social media required a hard work with audience there. Create a content plan for 6 months with different business-related topics and execute it. Interact with your audience everyday, so many times as allowed by Twitter & Facebook. In Twitter & Facebook there are 1500 users. Find business-related partners’ groups and cross-post your posts there. Do it regularly 2 per month, avoid to repeat the content. All that brings you traffic and grows your community.  Measure it in Analytics with goals, UTM, link shorteners, active users of your app, quantity of downloads. 2. Create email newsletter. Develop a Public Relations strategy and media plan If it is possible extract all emails from all your channels: social, alternative, personal and etc. Implement a special form on your website for gathering emails. Create a database of emails for your further email newsletter. Use any free newsletter service. Create a content plan for your newsletter for the next 6 months and execute it. Use free parcers for gathering users’ emails from internet for your database. Use open data or open list of emails from a search. Form a list of all free or almost free PR resources in EN/DE to promote your news. Track all changes (active users, open rate, bounce rate, CTA) with usually integrated analytic tools in newsletter service, and UTM, link shorteners + Google analytics. 3. Grow partner network. Participate in Awards & Ratings Start to build your own partner network. Think about what related your app business (Startups, SME’s) you may engage. What exactly you may offer them?  Maybe newsletter amid your users about their products or it could be especial post in your social media dedicated their products. Participate in all possible awards, ratings in EN/DE, something like “Best design/functionality/quickly growing startup and etc.” Track all changes (active users, open rate, bounce rate, CTA if it is in newsletter service) with UTM, link shorteners, and Google analytics. Process for growth marketing activities Copywriter/Content manager: write content in EN with keywords for newsletter, for social media, partner’s & PR resources. Copy for banners. Translations to DE/SP. Designer: prepare a banners & place texts there for social media, partner’s & PR resources. Webmaster: place all materials on website (+ translate to DE), check usability. Place news in all related websites with info about app. Negotiate with partners about internal and external newsletter. Close work with b2b offer & sales. Track all as on previous slides. At the end I'm absolutely sure that one person is able to cover these digital growth marketing roles, me for example, but you need to think about execution time and deserved reward. ### Growth Marketing Case. Digital payment application Sonect AG provides a financial platform (digital payment application) that makes cash withdrawals simpler and more cost efficient, offers a solution to 3 parties: For users: Our users have the opportunity to withdraw cash via their smartphone at over 2,300 points of sales all over Switzerland. We provide access to cash even in regions where access to cash is difficult. For Banks: Banks can integrate our solution directly into their mobile banking app and thus offer their customers an additional digital service. At the same time, banks can expand their network of ATMs with us and save costs for the maintenance and operation of their own ATM fleet. For Shops: Retailers on the other hand use our solution to reduce their cash handling costs, and our app increases the number of walk-in customers in their stores. Initial Situation  In recent years we have gained users only via a B2C approach and implemented various measures in direct customer communication.  As you can imagine, the costs for B2C marketing are considerable especially with the background that we will now expand into new countries in Europe and Mexico.  This is why we are now increasingly trying to use the communication channels of our partners. We remain a B2C company, but with a smart B2B approach with the goal, to increase the number of users, increase the number of transactions and increase the number of partners. Time limit: 45min Task 1. Online marketing for Digital payment application What are your three ideas to help Sonect implement this marketing strategy?  Develop your partner’s channel: ask them to make a newsletter dedicated your product with link/QR-code to download app & activate it, within their internal  monthly newsletter. More difficult: convince your partners to send out a monthly newsletter for their customers with invitation to try your product (something like highly recommend to try our verified partner’s product). To prolongate the free trial till Aug due to COVID19 force majeure. Bring this message through all your digital channels. 2. Organic growth for Digital payment application Of course we do not want to grow only through our paid media. How Sonect can grow organically? What are your three ideas to push this growth?  Work Influencers and ambassadors. In every country, in every language.  Participate in awards (functionality, design, best startup or fastest and etc.) apply in every country (DE, EN, SP, IT) In your social media ask your followers mention your company in their post and then give away something and show their account in stories/post. 3. And now action Choose one of the ideas you suggested above. How would you proceed if you could implement one of these ideas at Sonect?  You have a budget of CHF 20’000. Additional Information - In case of ambiguity please make assumptions. At first, I prolongate the free trial till Aug due to COVID19 force majeure. Bring this message through all digital channels. I suppose that we do not need to redesign Sonect AG landing page layout. Main priority: get new clients asap. Act like an effective manager: save budget & maximise efforts. Taisiia Berg. Turn on all marketing communications efforts to online channels. Be human, share from your heart, and be empathetic. If your branch/office is closed at first notify vie email your clients about the changes in the working hours or when your office will be open. Put the same info in google maps or similar service.  Adapt your content to current situation. Create content that address the situation we’re in but provide a positive spin. Ask yourself: is my content going to hurt my brand identity or help people in their time in need? If you are B2C communicate with audience: face-to-face, in-store/by phone with clients.  Provide webinars, live-stream for concerts and even fitness classes and even online party/bar, radio, tv, be active in social media. If you are restaurants and cafes offer home-delivery only or free delivery, discounts, weekly or monthly subscription-style deals and other incentives helps to stay ahead of the competition. For B2C or B2B financial services offer directly to customers. Until now, customers may have chosen you over automated solutions for the perceived reliability and security of your individual, personal approach. Now, at a time of prolonged home-confinement for many, customers will go over to automated, remote services. 2. Provide and extend empathy through all marketing channels Giving vendors and customers the benefit. Reassuring others what we will get through this crisis. Work actively with partners’ channels, find opportunities to help your audience and make PR on it. https://youtu.be/BfA_6civ5KQ 3. Don’t turn off your advertising. Right now is the time to accelerate in your business. Use all possible channels and technologies. Implement online platforms for home office: planning and comms, Google Docs for collaborative documents that everyone can edit and comment on, Asana or similar software for business planning that keeps everyone on the same page, Slack for communication, Coggle or Stormboard for brainstorming and file-sharing. 4. Keep in mind: Many successful businesses were born in crisis Things might return to normal within a few weeks, or we might be facing a worldwide recession a year down the road. For businesses of all kinds, it’s important not to give up, to have a firm strategy in place and to remain adaptable and flexible in order to remain successful. ### 5 Crucial FinTech marketing channel metrics Hope more or less you defined your FinTech marketing strategy,  you follow the inbound methodology:  Created a blog and start filling it with relevant content. Set up your social media channels, start to post tweets and share insightful observations about your industry. Your added CTA’s take potential customers through to landing pages so you start grabbing those all-important leads. Are you sure, time and energy you’re pouring into your marketing strategy is having a genuine impact on your ROI?But how to measure it? 1. Website. Blog Post.  Visitors & Views Find out what resonates with your audience so that you can post content that they’ll want to read. Don’t forget to use analytics’ software, to monitor your views/visitors of posts. Define which posts are a hit with your readers (and which are a flop). If  you see a post on a certain topic performs really well, think of it as a potential direction for a full campaign.  Maybe your readers are especially interested in cash out software, for example. So you could start by writing a post or 2 with an overview of cash out software, then more, the week after on how businesses have used it, and more still on the software you would recommend. Later your blog becomes the go-to destination for information on cash out software and you’ve established yourself as a savvy, trustworthy thought leader. 2. Social Media Impact There is a lot of social media channels that you can use to generate traffic for your business.  Every social media channel has a different user base with certain content types that perform better on that platform than elsewhere. Pics in IG vs Video in Tiktok. Maybe you do everything right on a certain social media and still receive nothing, because it’s simply not the right fit for your business. Visual channel like Instagram, even though it may be the platform for your ideal customers and have the highest levels of brand engagement, may be difficult to work with if your product is intangible. If you develop a popular bitcoin wallet, it’s tough to take a cute photo of. Let’s face it, it’s never going to be a skateboarding cat (google it, it’s funny 😂) After your research, decided on which channels would be the best ones to be, post content regularly and keep a close eye on what gets the most engagement. Monitor several channels all in one place and break it down by campaign so you can get a really clear overview of how your social content is performing. Next time I prepare a list of such software.  In common, posts with images and hashtags (check its volume before using) perform best. Even better is if you can link your commentary (in a natural way) to a currently trending topic (#CoronaVirus go away!😂😂😂). Using your monitoring software, you can check graphs and watch your reach, follower number and clicks steadily rise. https://youtu.be/GzjUIgneKuM 3. Call - to - Action. Click - through Rate It is nice you have the website /blog, social media with plenty followers. But keep in mind what you really need is lead people through your sales funnel by clicking your CTAs. Your solid CTA click-through rate is a proof that you’re providing valuable content and people are interested in the services and products you’re offering. If your % seems low, it might be worth conduct A/B testing until you hit on the right spot. But remember A/B testing will be reasonable if you have 5k observations for each according to Nielsen Norman Group methodology. Experiment with the location and colour of your buttons. Try to use a contrasting colour and experiment with placing CTAs in sidebars, at the end of posts and in the middle of copy.  When you covered all blind spots, your CTA click-through rate steadily rise. 4. Landing page conversion rates Converting visitors into leads is the most important goal of your FinTech marketing strategy.  A visitor usually does not jump straight from reading a single piece of content to becoming a loyal customer that you can delight for years to come. They have to go through the stages of the inbound marketing methodology and you have to earn their trust. Keep eye on the performance of your landing pages, analyse which ones are working best for you and why. There will be 1 or 2 are doing better than others, sometimes by a significant margin.  What exactly does make it so effective? Does it offer an especially attractive and valuable piece of content? What kind of information does it require from the potential lead? 5. Traffic sources This metric of FinTech social marketing channel will guide in all your marketing activities and campaigns. The objective is to create a lean marketing strategy that works as hard as possible for you and your business. The only way to do this is define which streams bring in the most traffic and potential leads, and focusing your energy on them. Maybe you even did not consider that channel to make important in your marketing plan. Possibly you put all your staff to work on your website and social media, when actually, it’s the few posts you’ve done on niche, dedicated forums that have been having the most impact. Keep a close eye on which keywords people are searching for when they come across your business organically. You can use these words to guide you when it comes to developing content ideas and themes.  Your business and product is unique, and your approach to marketing should be too. Don’t feel like you have to do what everyone else is doing just for the sake of it. ### Usability research of Trading account of MT4 WebTrader Here I posted my summary of usability research results of Trading account on MT4 WebTrader platform for an investment company. Inspiration for Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram Once we moved to Switzerland 3 year ago we faced a challenge with understanding what happens around us in the Gemeinde where we live, what are the local rules and customs, and what are the opportunities to integrate into society. For example: we forgot to look into Abfallkalender (Recycling Calendar, that is different for every locality) and missed dates to recycle for free paper, carton, metal, etc; we had to manually check website of our local authorities to check if there are upcoming events, meet-ups, etc. with locals, also to stay up to date with local news and check if they impact us somehow; we heard that wether can change unexpected and there are some notifications being sent by email or sms, but were not aware how to subscribe to them to receive only relevant warnings; additionally, I heard that some people might have headache when strong Föhn is blowing from Alps, and wanted to check if there is correlation between my occasional headaches and Föhn strength; finally, couple of time during the year broadband internet connection in our house was not working, and it happened exactly when it was very much needed, so I started to think if there is way to get informed about downtimes and recoveries for my Internet provider. As we are frequent users of Telegram Messenger that serves for us a default communication platform, and we prefer it over WhatsApp and Facebook, it was a natural decision to explore its API to see how to deliver above mentioned pieces of information to Telegram Channels Schwerzenbach Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram channel Volketswil Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram channel What Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram channel does Analyses Föhndigram from Meteocentrale (http://www.meteocentrale.ch/en/weather/foehn-and-bise/foehn.html) to detect when Föhn strength exceeds 8hPa level Checks Severe Weather report from Meteocentrale (http://www.meteocentrale.ch/en/weather/severe-weather-switzerland/severe-weather-report.html) to capture warnings relevant for particular area. Checks Network Status for GGA Maur Telecom provider (https://www.gga.ch/de-CH/Support/Netzstatus) and informs if relevant interruptions are found there Checks Recycling Calendar and notifies in the evening if tomorrow is the recycling day for particular type of waste Checks website of Local Authority and parses title and URL for news and upcoming (or cancelled) events. How we built the channel Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram First we created two Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram channels: one for our Gemeide and another one for neighbourhood, and started to monitor above mentioned sources of information to understand frequency and format of messages, and posted relevant information manually to the channel. Downloaded Abfallkalendar as PDF, and manually parsed it into series of dates and events, and stored in Airtable. Subscribed for newsletters on Gemeinde websites not to miss important updates until we have everything automated. Started to automate this activity by creating parsers for above mentioned sources using Codeigniter micro framework (it is PHP based, I know might not be the best choice, but it comes with its own pros and cons that we can discuss separately). Challenges we ran into Websites of Local authorities do not offer RSS or any other structured format for news. So we have either to write custom parser for each Gemeinde, or contact them (and their website developer) to add RSS support, or parse newsletter that Gemeinde sends out. Meteocentrale.ch also does not offer RSS or API to get information we need, so once again we have to be creative :) Even more, now it is not possible to subscribe for "Severe Weather Mailservice" anymore, because it appears broken (http://www.meteocentrale.ch/en/weather/severe-weather-switzerland/mailservice.html?no_cache=1) - so we had to look under to hood of Meteocentrale website to make it possible to subscribe there. Accomplishments that we're proud of We have 10 and 7 subscribers for our Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram channels at the moment. What we learned in the project Gemeinde Nachrichen in Telegram Seems like there is no any Open API among infrastructure providers in Switzerland (telecom, electricity, etc.) to get information about interruptions, incidents, downtime, etc. So only way to obtain information instantly is to parse website content. Hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people could benefit from your product, if only they knew about it. Spreading the word to your close friends and family, that is not enough to help you scale.  Clients want a quick solution; they don’t want to search for options. Good marketing and SEO make your product easy to find when it is needed.  Marketing can create a sleek image for unattractive business model. Find below 6 Marketing strategies to promote your FinTech Startup. 1. Visual marketing tactics. Usually images simplify complex topics. Infographics or short videos allow to demonstrate how your product works and attract more attention. Most of clients would much rather watch a 1—2 min video that explains your product’s functionality than read a 12-page white paper with details.  Example: Mexican small-business (SME) loan startup, Konfio uses simple branded images and 30-second videos to explain how to use their app. Сlients learn how the product can help them,  it is important to mention all materials are optimized for social media viewing, including captions and mobile responsiveness. Don’t forget to post videos directly to the platform video on Facebook or Twitter; native video has an 86% higher reach (Hubspot) than YouTube links. 85% of Facebook video is watched with the sound turned off (Digiday). 2. Think about keywords. If your startup is small, no one knows about you and what you do. Create a large list of keywords based on what your users might be searching in google to help them find you.  Use FAQ: What questions might your target audience ask when they look for your product? This answer depend on whether your clients are individuals or businesses; Remember a sales manager search for products differently than a suburban mom.  Imagine, your client looks for a payments processing solution in Latin America in Spanish. They scroll Google results and compare all products before they make a choice. Here, they would probably land on PayU (Colombian company) that processes online payments and it has a high rank on Google for related to their solution keywords. Imagine your ideal client’s search behaviour before you start writing.  https://youtu.be/fmaZvyF7fig 3. Beat the banks on social media 87% of users see banks as annoying, unhelpful on social media or via apps. These channels are more about to connect with a younger audience who adopts tech quicker. Speak the same language of your ideal customers to help them realise why your product is relevant to them. Revolut (British digital bank but with Russian CEO), is a fintech company with a strong social media presence. Their Twitter is very responsive and interesting with memes, gifs, and etc. Revolut via their social channels provides more direct customer service, answering questions and concerns directly through Twitter.  4. Use a strong message. Pay attention to regulations - you are FinTech startup - if you don’t wanna get shut down. Facebook, Instagram tend to pull down ads or pages for fintech companies in the cryptocurrency space, so play by their rules. Or find another platform like Medium, Quora, Huckernoon, Reddit. Ualá (Argentine neobank) has one of the world’s most entrenched banking systems with a completely free, mobile credit card. They have over 400,000 Argentinians in their 1 year of business by providing a fierce value proposition across all their channels. Founder openly declares that Ualá plans to make banks in Argentina outdated by next year. 5. Customer retention. Meanwhile you engage new clients, your revenue comes from existing customers. It costs from 5 to 25 times more (Harvard Business Review) to acquire a new customer than to retain one.  Continue to educate and serve your customers, who already use your service or product. All your content production should be dedicated to help clients take advantage of all of your services and don’t forget to prioritize their concerns when you create new campaigns.  CryptoMKT (Chilean cryptocurrency exchange platform) for each country where it operates across Latin America, they created separate, educational pages to provide clients updated pricing and trends in market.  Additionally explain how to purchase every cryptocurrency in detail, to help buyers clarify such complicated topic.   6. Let your marketer do this job! Help your marketing team wholly extricate themselves from the internal operations of your business, they should be focused on creating, sharing and spreading information about your company. Avoid to overburden your marketers, or you get less effective content, and less benefit from the full effect of marketing work. According to PwC, Banking & Payments ~ 28% of market, Insurance, Asset & Wealth Management ~22% and still grow. Fintech startups around the world lag behind other startups in marketing efforts, that means you may beat out the competition by distributing your content on the right channels, educating your users, and having a strong message. ### How to create Digital Marketing Strategy? What is a digital marketing strategy? The digital marketing strategy is the process of articulating the vision, goals and opportunities — as well as the processes, people, technology and initiatives to execute them — to create deeper interactions with customers, more customized and personalized offerings and interactions, data-driven decision making, and customer experience models that are more nimble and reactive to changes in customers’ needs, wants and interests (Gartner).  In simple terms, It is the thought out sequence of actions that allow to achieve company goals through pre-selected online marketing channels: like paid, owned & partners media, and all support a main campaign around a general line of business. For example, to generate 25% more leads via website this year compared with previous. So, entrepreneurs usually ask me, how to Create a Digital Marketing Strategy? Describe your ideal customers (buyer personas). Identify goals and the digital marketing tools you'll need. Evaluate existing digital channels and assets. Audit and plan owned media and paid campaigns. Gather all in sequence of actions. Personas: For any marketing strategy (offline or online) know your customer (KYC) or who is your audience. The best digital marketing strategies are built upon detailed buyer personas, and you need to do it.  Research, survey, and interview your target audience to describe Personas (based on real data), who represent your ideal customers. Making not exact hypothesis about your audience cause the wrong direction of marketing strategy and leak of marketing budget. Don’t forget about customers, sales managers, people who align with your target audience. Location and language. Use Analytics to identify what location your website traffic is coming from. Age & Income. Depending on your business, this may or not be relevant.  Job Title.  It might be your assumption or from relevant for B2B companies. Goals. What goals persona wants to reach. Challenges. Again, speak to customers, sales to get an idea of the common problems your audience faces. Priorities & Expectations. What's most important to them in relation to your business. Thus, if you're a B2B software company, discovered that your audience prefer customer support over a competitive price, that is very valuable information. 2. Goals and the digital marketing tools you'll need. Marketing goals should be tied back to the fundamental goals of the business. For example, if your business's goal is to increase online sales by 20%, a goal might be to generate 50% more leads via the website than you did last year. Don’t forget you need to know how to measure it (e.g., have the right digital marketing tools in place to do so). How you measure the effectiveness of your digital strategy will be different for each business and dependent on goal(s), these metrics which will help you adjust your strategy in the future. https://youtu.be/Pq4cM8PxVrA 3. Evaluate your existing digital channels and assets. Owned Media is all digital assets that brand or company owns: website, social media, blog, owned channels (like a blog on Medium). Paid Media is any vehicle or channel where you spend money on to catch the attention of audience/personas (Google Ads, paid social media posts, native advertising (like sponsored posts on other websites and etc). Gather what you have in a spreadsheet, so you have a clear picture of current situation. Digital marketing strategy should incorporate all channels working together to help you achieve goal.  For example, you have a content on a landing page on your website that's been created to help you generate leads. To increase the number of leads that content generates, you make real effort to make it shareable, you distribute it via personal social media profiles, amplifying traffic to the landing page.  To support the content's success, you post to your Facebook page and pay to have it seen by more people in target audience. That's exactly how all channels (incorporated into your digital marketing strategy) work together to help you reach goal. 4. Audit and plan media campaigns. The digital marketing is always around your media, and it takes the form of content.  When your brand broadcasts any message it’s classified as content starting from about us page, product descriptions, blog posts, ebooks, infographics, or social media posts. Content helps convert website visitors into leads and customers, and to raise your brand. When it's optimized, it boosts search/organic traffic. Whatever your goal, you need to use content to form digital marketing strategy. To build your digital marketing strategy, you need to decide what content will help you reach goals. If the goal is to generate 50% more leads via the website than you did last year, that is not about how to improve 'About Us' page. It’s about how to improve your lead generation machine. Audit your existing content. What is the best performing content in relation to your current goals? Make a list of your content, rank each item.  For example, the goal is lead generation, rank content according to which generated the most leads in the last year: blog post, an ebook, a specific page on website. What's currently working, and what's not? Identify gaps in existing content based on personas. If you're a FinTech company and discovered in your audience research that one of your persona's biggest challenges is finding interesting ways to study, but you don't have such content, you need to create some. Thus you may discover that ebooks convert really well (much better than webinars, for example). In this case, you might add an ebook about 'how to make studying more interesting' to your content creation plan. Create a content plan. Based on the gaps you've identified, create a content plan that's necessary to achieve goals. Include there: Title; Format; Goal; Promotional channels;  Reason = Why you're creating it (e.g., Persona struggles to find time to plan blog content, so we're creating a template editorial calendar);  Priority level (to decide what's the most effective). It should be a simple spreadsheet, and include budget information if you plan to outsource the content creation, or a time estimate if you produce it yourself. 5. Audit and plan media campaigns. Look at the best performing channels, where your traffic and leads come from (e.g Google Analytics) and use it your planned campaign. E. g. Your article in the industry press, drove a lot of qualified traffic to your website, which in turn converted well. Or your post in LinkedIn  drives a lot of traffic. 6. Audit and plan paid media campaigns. Evaluate your existing paid media across each platform (e.g., Google Ads, In, Fb, Tw, etc.) to find out which help you meet goals. If you leaked budget on Facebook and haven't seen the results, it's time to refine your approach, or scrap it altogether and focus on another platform might bring better results. By doing that, you review your paid channels and should exclude ineffective channels from your digital marketing strategy. 7. Gather all in sequence of actions. After the planning and the research, you get a solid vision of your digital marketing strategy: Clear profiles of personas. Marketing-specific goals. A list of your existing media. An audit of existing media. An owned content plan or wish list. Now, gather all in sequence of actionsto form a cohesive digital marketing strategy document to meet your goals. A spreadsheet is an efficient format. Plan your strategy for a longer-term period ~ 12 months, depending on your business.  For example: In January, you start a blog which will be continually updated 1/week, for the entire year. In March, you launch a new ebook, accompanied by paid promotion. In July, you prepare for further business seasons -- what topics for content? When? Paid channels or not? In September, you focus on PR to drive additional traffic. This approach will help communicate your plans to your colleagues. ### Digital Marketing trends 1. The big brands of Chatbots have jumped on board. But the real power of artificial intelligence in marketing is only just beginning. From Gartner’s forecast: 85% customers instead of engaging with people, will use self-service options and chatbots. Due to the fact that millennials prefer to deal with customer service issues themselves. When it comes to chatbots, 60% of millennials have used them, 70% of those report positive experiences, and of the millennials who have not used them, more than 50% say they are interested in using them (Forbs). 58% of B2B companies use a chatbot on their website, as compared to 42% on B2C websites. The most consumers want to be informed if they are using a chatbot (92%) and 91% of all consumers prefer a live agent.  However, this preference follows a downward trend generationally:  98% of the Silent Generation,  96% of Baby Boomers, 91% of Generation X, 86% of Millennials 83% of Generation Z say they prefer a live agent (Bloomberg) The good news is, there are several powerful plugins which can help any blogger integrate AI with their blogging routine. 2. The explosion of visual and video marketing The demand for interactive and video content is growing fast. According to Hubspot, more than 50% of US consumers are willing to see more video content from any brand. In fact, more and more brands are embracing multi-format visual marketing actively investing in creating advanced image and video assets. Over 50% of marketers are planning to increase video marketing budget. The key is to find the video marketing solution that will keep you up-to-date with video marketing trends and provide you with affordable video creation and marketing tools. 3. Search without a single click Search has been adapting to a mobile world. It has also been shifting to accommodate a faster moving one. Google implemented Featured Snippets, for both seekers and providers alike. No longer do you have to sift through long articles or endless web pages for information… it is right there, at the top of the search results. Now what used to be an occasional find with the right keywords has become commonplace. It has also expanded. Clickless searching is all the rage and Sparktoro reports that it is on the rise.  Mobile no-click (or zero click) searches have grown 11%. Desktop no-click searches have grown 9.5%. Meanwhile increased paid ad CTR by ~44% on desktop and a whopping ~125% on mobile. Mobile searches make up a good chunk of that increase in use, as evidenced by the fact that 31% of the 3.3 billion estimated smartphone owners across the globe use voice search, a statistic that is believed to be directly correlated with the increasing number of zero-click searches. Organic traffic? Branding and reputation? When trying to get your name lodged in the head of potential customers, what better way than to show, that you are the first one with the answer? You may not get a click every time but you are still making an impression that is crucial. Featured snippets are here to stay and fast answers are the best answers for most. Take advantage by driving the competition to the second, third or fourth spots on the list and reigning supreme. 4. Fragmented and scattered customer journeys Due to the fast growth of smart mobile devices and assistants, the buyer’s journey has become more fragmented. These days consumers are able to perform on-the-go purchases right from their mobile device.  Furthermore due to the integration of mobile instant payments, mobile experience has caused a boost in impulse shopping. Engaging customers with one site is getting very challenging.  Here’s what you can do: Use Content Engagement Tools. Embrace new content engagement tools to get customers to keep interacting with your site.  Engage your return visitors by performed events and create personalized advertising campaigns. Customize your on-page CTAs, offer customers to  download the full report after they read half of your blog article announcing it. Or invite them to complete their shopping journey after they have abandoned their cart. Follow the Entire Customer Journey. Everyone knows that retaining a customer is more beneficial than acquiring a new one. It is why companies such as Discover Card put so much effort into perfecting their customer service. In fact, they explain it as “the customer experience” and it begins before they even have an account. Your Digital marketing in general should follow this philosophy. To get a  truly successful campaign you have to plan for the entire journey of the customer, from that first spark of recognition to years down the line.  Make efforts in at different point of that journey will improve that experience. Divide the customer’s journey into 4 segments (Awareness, Interest, Desire, Action or Reach, Act, Convert, Engage) to show actionable steps in each one to capture and retain with maximum efficiency. It helps understand how to make customers fall in love with your brand. Use also Older tactics like to use social proof to boost your conversions.  https://youtu.be/ABl17eoHnHE 5. Consider Marketing as an experience, it is not about advertising  It isn’t enough to tell a potential customer why they should be attracted to your brand. You have to show them and, make them feel it. Interactivity is vital in modern digital marketing, and storytelling is the best way to attract attention. For instance, to take over a hashtag that was already in use (#visitswitzerland), create a campaign where user generated content – like photos of the country. They take a few photos per day and feature them on their Instagram page. The results are incredible. 36% increase in their site traffic, showing that their brand is growing, but people were spending 66% more time browsing the site when they were there. Collaborating with niche influencers is a great way to embrace that experience-driven marketing model. Influencers have already earned your customers’ trust. They are real and authentic, so having them on your side means making your brand’s voice heard. ### Digital Marketing Strategy for Charity mobile app Goals Reach out to people in EU willing to participate in charity. The FinTech Project manager's checklist is an inherent tool for the productive Project Manager.  It doesn’t matter whether you run a project from scratch or taking over one that’s already been started. Project planning helps you to save time and money, and eliminate risks before they arise. Follow the checklist and manage your project with the highest success rate. Research Before starting a fintech project, make sure you are informed about the all facts. Dive into the project documentation, collect and ask thoughtful questions, be consequential and methodical. Understand your Role  Clarify an understanding of your role for all participants of your project, even if it isn’t documented on paper. Further it will help you ensure that all stakeholders are considered and you know all your responsibilities (power) in case issues arise. Identify the Stakeholders  Meet the expectations of all stakeholders, it brings your project to success. A stakeholder is a person who directly or indirectly can impact by the project. If to identify persons affected indirectly is not easy, consider the following categories: The client. The project manager. The project team.Consultants/ subject matter experts.Project - or product - related departments. The customer who receives the deliverables. After creating your Work Breakdown Structure (WBS, is essential part of Agile project management), meet with the stakeholders again. Find out whether they still want you to run the project. Usually, the WBS uncovers constraint problems. For example, the project may need a bigger budget than the clients are prepared to allocate. Set Goals  Meet with the stakeholders, and discuss the possible outcomes. It helps you to set achievable goals for project plan. Make a comprehensive list from the output, and prioritise the needs.  Use a SMART principle for your review. The acronym SMART you may decode as: S – specific, significantM – measurable, motivationalA – agreed upon, attainable, action-orientedR – realistic, relevant, rewarding, results-orientedT – time-bound, tangible, trackable SMART principle. BergDigital.ch Remember: Make every goal measurable, track various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which  depend on your project’s objectives. Controlling KPIs allows to evaluate the project’s performance and make data-driven decisions. Gather your clients in the one room to determine: Deliverables and objectives (What results they expect from the project?)Key performance indicators (Metrics to determine whether the project was successful, to track performance)Expectations (What problems do the clients expect to resolve with this project?)Scope, budget and timeframe. The goal is to always set the exact objectives, budget, scope, and timelines. Avoid vague discussions, and write everything down. Create a Vision  Without a strong, shared vision, it’s hard to convey the impulse needed to get the project off the ground. From the smaller goals, build a strong vision statement.  Your vision statement should explain what the project is needed to achieve: Where does the project bring the benefit to the overall business strategy? What project’s outcome is expected? How the stakeholders will benefit from the project? Prepare a Project Plan & Work Breakdown Structure When you as a project manager collected enough information to start planning the project, use a project planning tool like comprehensive Jira, Confluence, or for small projects: Trello, Asana, or even a simple spreadsheet. Remember a rock solid project plan can be achieved in any solution as long as it helps you to formalise your thoughts and bring consistency. Keep in mind your project plan should be as simple as possible – straightforward and easy to read. A WBS will help you define all the tasks and activities that need to be completed in order to finish the project. And identify all the requirements, and then break them down into tasks. It helps you to understand task dependencies – which tasks have to be completed first? And determine the critical path – the task completion sequence that will help you finish the project in the shortest possible time, with the lowest possible costs. WBS for IT project by Bergdigital.ch Please find below a common plan for IT project as an instance, but keep in mind that a full project plan should be supplemented with other documents. A common plan for IT project by Bergdigital.ch Project Plan should contain: The project scope statement.A project schedule.Project risk plan.Change policy. The project communication plan. Your fintech project plan is like a road map. Develop the Budget  Make your project budget detailed, time-based estimated for all the costs of project. Develop a budget step by step – from an initial estimate to a detailed version to the final approved project budget. When you run a project, it is difficult to estimate how much it will cost – and degree of uncertainty in projects, thus it is one of the project manager’s greatest challenges. Count all direct and indirect costs, with a small amount assigned for contingency reserve ~ 20%. When you get to know, how long a project is going to take and how much resources you need, you can calculate the approximate total for the direct and indirect costs. Read it in telegram Define the Direct Costs Such costs are directly attributed to the project and charged on an item-by-item basis. Labour (people) costs.Consultant/ subject matter experts fees.Raw material costs.Software licences.Travel costs. Define the Indirect Costs These costs represent resources that benefit more than one project, and only a part of their total cost is charged to the project. Telephone charges.Office space rent.Office equipment costs.General administration costs.Company insurance costs. Don’t forget about the Contingency Reserve Reserve a space to your project to cover risks. It’s a percent of the total project cost and time. Create a Resource Allocation Plan  The resource allocation plan is an important part in the efficient management of scarce resources. Usually organisation’s resources include people, equipment, materials, knowledge, and time. Determine what resources are available for the project, now and in the future. List the type of resources you needed and the timing. Your resource plan must be flexible enough to adjust as further occurring changes. A Resource Plan clarifies: The number of resources required per project activity. The timeline for consuming these resources.Detailed resource utilisation schedule. Establish the Deliverables  With pre-defined goals, write a list of stuff the project needs to deliver to meet those goals. In other words divide all to tasks and subtasks. Specify when and how to deliver each item. Use notes for tasks to bring additional explanation for controversial moments.  When you finish your project, the results and deliverables should be as agreed upon in the project plan. Make sure you compare your results against the established acceptance criteria to see if they fit the specifications. Important to prepare the handover, project completion documentation, and schedule the final meeting with stakeholders. Describe a Timeline  Prioritise a list of tasks that need to be done for each identified deliverable. Determine the following for every task: The amount of time (hours, days, etc.) required for completing the task. The responsible person who is assigned to the task. After previous things you can estimate the time required for each deliverable, and a delivery date. At this point in the planning, you can use project planning (Agile project management) software such as Jira, MS Project, Trello, Asana etc, to create your project schedule.  (Re-)Assess the Deadline  Usually delivery deadline imposed by the client, thus you need to negotiate with client the realistic date. Contact the client immediately, if you find out that you can’t deliver the project on time. Your options: Renegotiate the deadline (project delay).Employ additional resources (increased cost).Reduce the scope of the project (fewer deliverables).Use the previously written project schedule to justify pursuing one of these options.Create a Schedule for Your Project Team. When all stakeholders have signed off on the project plan, prepare a schedule for your team: Determine epics, user stories, tasks, subtasks and add them to your backlog (task management software).Set deadlines.Assign tasks to team members.Identify task dependencies.Set priorities in your PM tool. Create a Communications Plan  Every project must begin with clear communication of the project goals and the effort required to meet them. Technically, you can manage projects with a piece of paper, but it makes things more complicated It’s better to get a visual task and project management tool. The document should include: Who should be informed about the project. How often and when should they be informed. How will they receive the information. Commonly it is the weekly or monthly status report, describing how the project is performing, milestones achieved, and the planned work for the next period. Sometimes you need a project management tool only to communicate with your team and improve your productivity, it depends on the project. If you’re working on a long project, the external stakeholders (e.g. clients, top management) usually want to be kept in the loop regarding your progress. Risk Management Plan  If something goes wrong, you have be prepared: identify as many risks to your project as possible.  You know exactly what to do, If you’ve previously described good change, risk policies and processes in the initiation phase. When you face an issue that doesn’t affect the main three constraints: time, budget, and scope, add it to your backlog. If the issue affects the principal three, consult your team and stakeholders to revise the plan. Risk Management process. BergDigital.ch Consider common project risks: Unclear roles and responsibilities.Rare communication causes misunderstandings, quality problems and rework. When the project has started stakeholders want to add or change requirements. Lack of resource commitment.Misunderstanding stakeholder needs. No stakeholder input obtained.Too optimistic time and cost estimates. Remember: Ignoring risks doesn’t eliminate them 😉 The Document management To keep the project fully transparent, attach project plan to other project-related documents like the proposal, time logs, work reports, meeting notes, or what ever else that might be helpful. Format Now you have the fintech project management checklist, you can build an actionable project plan. Don’t forget to include the project information like the client & project name. Add your company’s (and the client’s) logo. Use your company’s branded fonts and colour scheme. Track the Progress  When you made it, don’t forget to update your plan as the project makes progress, also measure progress comparing with plan’s KPI. The common practise for Agile project manager is to use a project KPI dashboard that provides a quick overview of the project’s performance and updates. It provides a real-time overview of the KPIs and facilitate to make informed decisions and achieve long-term goals. The best practise to dashboard reporting features or use Gantt charts to streamline reporting. ### Marketing comparison of jSU automation suite for beecom AG The comparison of jSU automation suite from beecom.ch with products such as Automation for Jira and Jira Misc Workflow Extensions was fully prepared by Taisiia Berg. Timeframe: 24h since 7th of October'19 Table #1. Jira workflow plugins comparison for non-functional features and metrics by Taisiia Berg In table #1 the jSU product from beecom, Atlassian Top Vendor and Platinum Partner of 17 years,  was compared with products such as automation for Jira and Jira Misc Workflow Extensions.  As you notice, for users on the Atlassian marketplace, jSU benefits from price, documentations, but got fewer reviews, and that did not influence to a number of orders. Let’s shortly compare the features of these products in table #2 below. Of course, that is not the deep comparison but it’s enough to understand the general line. Unfortunately, somewhere on the webpage of products it was not clear, is this feature there or not, without digging in documentations. However, it is possible to conclude, jSU allows to realise a little bit more functions than the other two products. Table #2. Jira workflow plugin comparison for functional features by Taisiia Berg Marketing recommendations to try Embed jSU product link and a description to blog posts, reviews and articles that already appear in SERP (Google/Bing/Yahoo/Yandex) for queries like “automation for Jira vs jsu automation suite” or “Jira misc workflow extensions vs jsu automation suite" or “best Jira workflow plugins”, etc. https://railsware.com/blog/top-10-jira-add-ons-for-server-and-cloud-to-increase-your-teams-productivity/ https://blog.servicerocket.com/adoption/blog/2014/02/add-ons-to-build-a-better-jira https://www.softwaretestinghelp.com/jira-plugins-addons/ Run Google Ads for competitor plugin names; Go local, based on TOP-10 languages used in the Internet today (https://speakt.com/top-10-languages-used-internet/): create and distribute the content not only in English but also in the following 5 languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, French, German (only European languages covered); Monitor (rather automatically) when new threads are started on Quora, StackOverflow, Atlassian Community that cover Jira workflow automation topic and participate in the discussion (Example: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Is-JWFE-a-replacement-for-JSU/qaq-p/1009425) Become a sponsor for series of events aimed at Jira users (Atlassian User Groups, PMI Chapters, Agile meetups), or at PM/PO, probably also for DevOps as developers sometimes like structured approach much better then business users (strategy that is successfully implemented by Automattic to promote their Jetpack for Wordpress plugin); Partnership with Agile trainers and coaches, recruit them as ambassadors in different countries; Partnership with other Atlassian Solution Partners who integrate Jira for their customers; Conduct webinars for Atlassian community, that gets advertised via their website for free; Ask your current customers to provide feedback in the Atlassian Marketplace to improve quantity and quality of “star rating" (167 reviews as of now for 19 000 active instances does not look exciting, there is a potential to outperform competitors); On a regular basis, request to be featured in the Atlassian Marketplace (or to be continuously labeled "Staff pick") - this is free and allowed to do every quarter (submit your requests before the last day of every quarter (March, June, September, December); Experiment with the content on marketplace page — add more Feature/Use-Case descriptions, mention features that competitors offer if jSU product has them as well; I would also learn more about the approach to plugin marketing from success stories of other plugin marketplaces (Azure, JetBrains, Wordpress, Magento - first come to my mind), or using customer development (some insights could be obtained even without direct interaction with customers, just by googling: https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-promote-a-newly-launched-WordPress-plugin)  Of course, if I have an access to your Google Analytics, I could analyze the channels (which of them most productive and effective, which content is more catchy), get more topic-related websites (for SEO, and advertisement including Google Ads), include platforms and websites from the audience’s interests, affinity audiences and other insights. Today we will consider what content and actions are needed to retain the client. And do your clients come back? Objective: secondary sales (upsell) and ideally to build a long-term relationship.Tactics: help, support, adaptation, conflict resolution. 📌📌Everybody needs customers who are willing to pay. And those who are willing to pay as much as necessary - are so rare clients. Convince a customer who has already bought from you to buy from you again (IF your customer was satisfied with your product) is easier and faster, and most importantly, cheaper than to find a new one. As soon as you have these customers, your goal is to return and keep them. Content marketing is also part of this process. You need to turn disposable customers into regular customers (and for companies with a subscription model, it is needed to do so that customers continue their subscriptions instead of canceling). 🛒📲 Think out every step. Prepare the content for Customer retention after customer funnel and provide for actions Customer support (Through which channels? Is the customer satisfied? Told about possible pitfalls?) Reference info (Is there? Is it fast to find on the site or user's account?) Special offers (Are there? Are they offered at the request of the client or are you trying to pull out all the client's money?) Examples of product/service usage (Are there, any? Reviews?) Newsletter Efficient UX product. https://youtu.be/J22W4Ah__OE This list is made not according to priority. For example, for IT projects: UX and special offers will be in the first place, and use-cases of the product play an important role in the pre-sale and upsell stage. Remind: sales funnel concept is the same as customer funnel and sales funnel and even AIDA model: Attention (level 1) -- Interest + Desire (level 2) -- Action (level 3). Then, the most important part is the retention of customers. ⚡️🤓⚡️ Next time about customer retention. Solving conflict situations ### The third level of the customer funnel. Action The last time was about the 2nd level of the sales funnel or customer funnel - interest - how to create it? What content tactics and channels to use? Today we will analyze conversion or sales. 📌📌Briefly, the sales funnel concept is the same as the customer funnel and sales funnel, and AIDA model: Attention, 1st level -- Interest, 2nd level -- Action, 3rd level. Here I mean that Action = Conversions = Sales at level 3 of the customer funnel.Purpose: Customer transactions = sales.Tactics: Product descriptions and unique offers/promotions/discounts. Finally! All the courtships are over (usually months for large projects) and your visitors are ready to become customers. Depending on the style of your brand (if you suddenly find out that hard selling works well for your audience), than right here you can make the final direct selling. So in B2B business, for example, in IT, the sales cycle is from 6 to 9 months, with the size of a transaction from ₽2 million in Russia and Europe from €25k. Another example, an online luxury store where an average purchase is € 500, the decision is made from one day to one month, especially quickly during a period of discounts. Thus, the decision making period depends heavily on the industry, budget and sometimes even an exchange rate - especially if the purchase is not in the "home" currency. There are various methods to reduce this time, later I'll tell you. 🛒📲Level 3 of the customer funnel is the point of transaction (or conversion). At this point we know that the remaining people in the funnel are interested in what we offer; we are just trying to convince them that we are worth it. https://youtu.be/ZiVNO3YB9ow Be prepared to impress those people in the last minutes before they buy to finally convince them of the right decision by content: Testimonies Reviews Recommendations for related products Sometimes clear pricing Simplified, clear and reliable sales process. Return and delivery process ⚡️🤓⚡️These types of content are easy to use and include clear descriptions of your products, highlighting their unique value to customers. 📈📊You can also include charts or spreadsheets that compare your products with each other or with substitutes from other companies. MLM (multi-level-marketing) companies very much like to use this approach, and it works, they survive by that. In another case would not be such companies.Next time will be about customer retention. ### The second level of customer funnel. Interest The last time was about the 1st level of the sales funnel or customer funnel - awareness - how to create it? What content tactics and channels to use? Today we will consider the second level of customer funnel - interest. 📌📌Briefly, the sales funnel concept is the same as customer funnel and sales funnel, and the same as the AIDA model: Attention (level 1) -->Interest (level 2) -->Desire (usually I combine it with the previous one) -->Action (level 3). At level 2 of the sales funnel, your audience has already heard of you and expressed interest in your product/service or brand. Objective: Directly attract customers.Tactics: Problem-solving in specific examples. 📚📚 Here, a potential customer begins to associate you with your solution, product or service. Therefore, we often keep in touch with people on your phone or save a contact phone number like Justine Hair/Extension /Eyelashes/Botoxes, etc. or Mikhail Mechanic/Windows/Electrician, etc. Show the interested audience the content that will help them evaluate your services or product. At this stage, we talk directly to people, we think our business can help and make sure they know how we can help them. ‼️‼️ Remember that the interested audience may not trust you yet, so do not rush to sell and God forbid to sell by force.I tell my clients - it makes no sense for me to sell you anything by force and I will not pursue you. I'm not a $1M to be liked by everyone, + I'm sure I can do my marketing really awesome and effective. https://youtu.be/tH-r08BDUo0 🤹🕵 If the client decided to think about it, it means that there are circumstances that hold back him from doing with your product or service: budget, competitors, and of course everyone is looking for cheaper price = stuffing bumps and throwing enough money in the wind - then come back - because they still want to get result, and there is no strength and opportunity to waste money again. In the content, the audience can assess how deeply you understand what you are doing and how to achieve a good result. You just need to help them distinguish you from your competitors. 📌📌 At this point, people are looking for: Case studies How to create content to showcase your products/services Demonstration videos Product descriptions and specifications/services A great way to show the result of using products/services that solve customer problems. ### Marketing strategy vision for Bodywell Understanding situation Bodywell.io is a a cloud-based business management software for wellness services (software-as-a-service) founded in 2019. Awareness. Last time, we figured out how to map out the sales funnel. This time we will figure out how to fill it. The highest level of the marketing funnel is awareness (awareness of how many people have heard about your brand, product/service/app). Objective: To indirectly engage potential customers and build awareness of your products and services.Tactics: educating content and viral content (this is the most difficult to create and run in a created community to trigger a virus effect) 📚The challenge is to ensure that your audience not only remembers your brand but also the brand is interesting for your audience. People should start looking for information about your products. And you need to reach their list of trusted brands. 🌪So inbound marketing creates an incoming stream of potential customers in the marketing funnel. It is very important to meet the expectations of the audience - to know what they want and are looking for. And the main thing is to give it to the audience. It is important to use all factors - emotional (UX, massage & design), logical (channel, content). If you manage to awaken the trust and respect of the client, the conversion to purchase immediately increases by 40%. https://youtu.be/kya7y2H2kLQ 💻📸🎦 Content types that work 100% Blog posts Webinars Free programs, games, tips Detailed guides Email newsletter Video The secret is simple: every post, video, seminar, etc. should not promote itself and its product, but in order to really become useful to the audience. The rest does promotion, where the budget always matters. ### 10 tools to map out a sales funnel Do you often draw schemes or diagrams or visualize them? The last time we found out what a customer funnel is and what it is for. The purpose of the process is to create a systematic, sustainable strategy that includes new trends and changes. That allows: 💰earn money, cover expenses, pay employees, reinvest in growth; 😇 show proof of work for investors, partners, etc. The ability to systematically attract and convert people to new clients makes companies healthy and developing, and investors are happy. The difference between lead generation and customer acquisition. Graphic display of customer journey through stages of a purchasing (decision-making) process is the same as sales funnel and customer funnel. The buyer moves from a top to a bottom through the stages: ⬇️ awareness about your brand (here comes lead generation); ⬇️ interest in your product/service is on the list for consideration; ⬇️ decision about the purchase (action) = become a paid customer. At the same time, customer acquisition refers to the funnel as a whole. https://youtu.be/UkJfChL6Qx4 A metric is Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).Client acquisition costs (CAC) are costs associated with attracting a new client to your business, such as marketing, events, and advertising. It is calculated based on a specific campaign or time frame. CAC shows the real value of your marketing efforts and allows you to measure your ROI, this measure that is set by CEOs, managers and investors alike. When I promoted Ermenegildo Zegna, Lora Piano, Gucci, etc. for luxury chain Babochka in Russia - my CAC ~4 EUR, and the order ~500 EUR - it's a very cool result, if you know who can make better of it - introduce me to them please! Formula CAC = MC / CA CAC - the cost of attracting clients; MC - marketing expenses; CA - acquired customers/sales. Include in MC all expenses: from campaign expenses to marketing salary and software cost. If Company A spent $10,000 on attracting clients in the 4th quarter of 2017 and acquired 100 clients, CAC = $100. ### PR in Blockchain & Crypto to attract investors These PR resources for Blockchain and Crypto projects are fit to attract investors, audiences and customers to your project. Somewhere it will be cosmically expensive, and somewhere almost gratuitous, but in any case, it will be 100% hit in your audience. That depends on the resource - somewhere announcement/press release, analysis, and somewhere technical side of the project will have to be disclosed to make your article shoved. Customers who tried to set up ads in Ads periodically write me (I’m a Google certified marketer in Switzerland), they leaked a budget for a month, but didn’t get sales and disappointed in the channel. They say: the search ads do not work, Google steals money, everything is bad. I request access to their accounts and regularly see typical mistakes. Here they are. The link in the ad leads to a main page. But rarely the main page of the site sells well. If you have a single page, a landing page is OK. In other cases, refer to the most useful for the user page, which corresponds to the text of the ad (product or service page). The link in the ad leads to a page that is loading an entire eternity. Especially if the online store (e-shop) sends a smartphone user on a slow Internet to a category page with 100,500 products. The user is waiting, waiting for, freaking out and leaving. Meanwhile, Google has already received $$$ per click. The site is not optimized for smartphones. Today, 80% of traffic comes from smartphones. Therefore, if your site on smartphones looks crooked, it is better to target ads only for laptop and desktop users and not waste money. Too small budget and too wide targeting. As a result, you show a bit of advertising to everyone and do not get enough data to determine the effectiveness of advertising. If the budget is $ 5-10 per day, then it is better to limit it to several hours per day, either by people of a certain gender/age or by certain areas/cities. Geotargeting and languages are not configured. As a result, advertising sees the whole world, but for various reasons, they can not buy. First, advertise to the “home” region and in your language (the language of your site). Then expand the geography, if advertising starts to work. Too common keywords. Query “pizza” does not mean that the user is ready to order a pizza right now to his home. In addition, general queries are usually more expensive than a special one. A text of ads does not match the query. The user searched for “pizza margarita with delivery to Schwerzenbach”, and your ad says “Pizzeria in Zurich”. Use dynamic search ads, specify details in the text of ads. A text of ads does not match the content of the advertised page. Yes, Google does not allow to advertise anything. If you rewrite the ad “Pizza margarita delivery to Schwerzenbach in an hour”, but on the landing page there is no a word "margarita" and "Schwerzenbach" - the advertisement will not be shown or will cost $$$ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6n5i82h14fM ### Checklist for advertising in Google Ads. As you requested, Sales Funnels🤓Customer Acquisition strategy - the process of attracting new customers to your business. The goal of the process is to create a systematic, sustainable strategy that includes new trends and changes. It allows: 💰 to earn money, to cover expenses, to pay employees, to reinvest in growth; Show proof of work to investors, partners, and so on. The ability to systematically attract and convert new customers makes companies healthy and developing, and investors happy. The difference between lead generation and customer acquisition. A graphical display of the customer's movement along the stages of the purchase decision process is the sales funnel - customer funnel. The buyer moves from top to bottom through the stages:⬇️ Awareness of your brand (lead generation happens here).⬇️ Add your product/service to the list for review.⬇️ Purchase decision = get a paid customer. At the same time, customer acquisition refers to the funnel as a whole. And now a metric - Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) are the costs associated with attracting a new customer to your business, such as marketing costs, events, and advertising. It is calculated based on a specific campaign or time interval. CAC shows the real value of your marketing efforts and allows you to measure your ROI - an indicator that is set by both CEOs and managers and investors. When I promoted Ermenegildo Zegna, Lora Piano, Gucci and so on for the luxury chain of boutiques Babochka) - my CAC is 300 RUB = 4.25 EURO, and the order of ~ 37 000 RUB = 524 EURO is a very cool result if you know who can make it better - introduce me, please! https://youtu.be/mkn1G2V0F_0 Formula CAC = MC / CA CAC - the cost of attracting customers; MC - marketing expenses; CA - Acquired Customers / Sales. You need to include all expenses in MC: from campaign expenses to marketing salaries and the cost of software. If Company A spent $ 10,000 to attract customers in the 4th quarter of 2017 and acquired 100 customers, CAC = $ 100. ### 10 digital marketing tools to map out sales funnel Last time we figured out what a funnel is and what it is for. This time is about process visualisation tools. It’s mostly technical tasks deal with SEO, UX, and digital marketing and advertising for shop.greenteg. In the first presentation "How to promote a high-tech product?" you may find the marketing strategy for Swiss company greenTEG AG. A marketing strategy summary was built for U-Value Kit (measures the insulation quality of a building). To show you the complexity of the product, I decided shortly describe it. About greenTEG AG, Switzerland. greenTEG AG was founded in 2009 as a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). The company develops, manufactures, and markets thermal sensors for heat flux and laser power/position measurements and provides consulting on the thermal integration of its products. Today, greenTEG supplies OEMs as well as scientists in corporate and university labs around the world with its unique products. The greenTEG team consists of 15 specialists in engineering, materials science, physics, and electric engineering. All sensors are fully developed and manufactured in Zurich, Switzerland About product Heat Flux Sensor and two temperature sensors. This approach is standardized in ISO 9869, ASTM C1046 and ASTM C1155 1. Table Look-up (Building Catalogue)/ U-Value CalculationThere are complex databases containing λ-Values of generic building elements ordered by element material and/or year of construction. With these databases, the U-value of a building envelope (e.g. wall) is calculated by adding all materials contained within the specific element (e.g. specific wall = 20cm concrete + 20cm glass wool). While this method is very simple and quick, it does not produce an accurate U-Value, only an approximation. 2. Thermography (i.e. Infrared imaging)This approach shows the thermal radiation of an object and produces an image showing spots with higher and lower radiation. It does not produce a U-Value, it just produces an image. 3. Multiple Temperature MeasurementThis approach is based on three or more temperature measurements on both inside and outside of a building element. While this approach produces a U-Value, it needs a minimum temperature difference of 10 °C between the inside and outside to work and it is assumed that the thermal boundary resistance is constant. Here is a shortened description. Business drivers and approaches. These days, customers can satisfy their needs in digital products or services instantly. Therefore for clients a possibility of switching to other communications service providers’ (CSPs) increased. Actually, global research was published by Ovum in Telecoms Customer Insights 2014 that includes data about 25% of all users who say they will change CSP with another quarter indicating they may do so, within the next year. While the trend of churn varies cardinally independence of a country and CSP, the threat is existing. Also, GSMA Intelligence data shows that monthly average revenue per user has dropped about 4 percent in the last year. In addition, there is good news for new players. It's a direct link between a broadband service quality and share price that was found by Europe’s investors. A lot of CSPs are aware of the tendency of churn and are designing a strategy aimed at decreasing or stabilizing users migration. Actions are directed to raise the agility and use of high technologies, but mostly CSP’s are focusing on the customer experience. As the main source of data, CSPs are often using network and service data especially at a step of planning and designing. CSPs are researching data and applying sophisticated analytics of retrospective and real-time data to learn how to give the best service, quality products, and price to predict and decrease the churn. CSP networks possess information about subscribers, applications and network state. To increase the value delivered to subscribers and differentiate their fixed and mobile broadband services, they have to optimize the value of their network resources and use a huge quantity of data they possess. The potential benefit connected with network intelligence is significant. New network technologies such as NFV and SDN, provide new possibilities for network and software optimisation. NFV is the concept of a network architecture in which the virtualised whole classes and feature sets of network nodes. They may be linked, joined to form a telecommunications service. That is, these functions are presented in the case of virtualisation at the software level, abstracted from the physical, and can be delivered from the cloud. This approach allows the operator to launch new services without the purchase of new equipment and to solve the problem of its compatibility with existing ones. Using NFV allows you to build a flexible, stable working and economical network architecture that can quickly and easily adjust following the increase or decrease of the volume of the traffic. To virtualise networking features bring the most benefit, it is necessary to use a software-configurable network (SDN). SDN technology allows operators to manage network resources, presenting them as virtual services. Network services also need to virtualise to achieve the same flexibility and simplicity in the NFV. Without this, it is impossible to fully realise the potential of NFV. In addition, the use of SDN expands NFV due to better traffic organisation. SDN and NFV Business drivers, use cases: communications service providers’ approaches to leveraging data from Network. SDN & NFV by Taisiia Berg Using techniques SDN and NFV divides the network into virtual layers or segments, and thus simplifies the management of each of them and the whole network. In addition, each segment is responsible for the provision of certain services, and it is configured for optimal performance. As a result, one the physical network ensures reliable operation of a variety of services with its own settings. In this case, the operator has the opportunity to exercise individual control of each layer or set the same management options for multiple layers simultaneously. In particular, due to network segmentation is possible to create a virtual mobile operators (MVNO). The network segmentation simplifies network management, working with static settings. It also gives an opportunity to change the functional of segments and perform an upgrade. Business drivers, use cases: communications service providers’ approaches to leveraging data from Network.
